Church of the Resurrection is a parish in downtown Lansing that is flourishing. A couple years ago the pastor reached out to me asking for assistance in developing new liturgical furnishings that were a part of a larger renovation of the sanctuary to invite the congregation into the beauty of the liturgy. The new wooden reredos replaced old jute carpet wall coverings and was designed to frame the existing crucifix. Six icons were written by local artist, Joseph Macklin, depicting Mary and John at the foot of the cross, along with four of the early saints who witnessed to the resurrection: Saint Mary Magdalene, Saint Peter, Saint Thomas, and Saint Paul. The exteriors of the parish church and the cathedral are depicted at the foot of the cross as a subtle reminder of the universal nature of Christ’s passion. The marble altars and ambo were made from botticino classico and verde alpi marbles and fabricated in Italy.

“Just over a year ago, we dedicated our renovated church, which features a beautiful altar, ambo, and reredos designed by Phillip Breckler of Adoremus Design. Breckler's attentiveness to our vision, coupled with his insight and expertise, transformed our sanctuary into a fitting space for the heavenly liturgy. His recommendations for quality craftsmen were invaluable. I can’t recommend him highly enough.”
